Welcome to Belgrade !

“Belgrade is a great European city connected with the rest of the world”
Anrdzej Wajda, producer

“Belgrade is a low-budget New York."
Momo Kapor, writer

The capital of the Republic of Serbia (former capital of Yugoslavia from 1918 to 1991), located in central Serbia, at the confluence of the rivers Sava and Danube, is an emerging tourist destination among the most interesting of Europe, with its special light and for its warm atmosphere had already seduced Samuel Beckett.

The etymology of the name Belgrade comes from the name Beograd, in Cyrillic Бeoгpaд (literally white city); this name, transformed by the Bulgarians in Alba Græca, was used for the first time by Pope John VIII, around 900.
